Save Ocean Grove School is a movement to preserve and restore a place of historical significance and recognize its role along with other old field schools in the post slavery South. Helping capture the struggles, achievements, and values of so many that passed through its doors during this incredible time of struggling and overcoming.

Ocean Grove School has a unique place in the hisory and legacy of the Burris Family. On March 22, 2024, the school was nominated by the SC State Board of Review for a National Register of Historic Places designation. The two-room school building, constructed in 1907, needs structural upgrades to maintain the integrity of the building and its historical significance in educating African Americans during the pre-intergration, Jim Crow Era in the South.

Let's honor this legacy by making a contribution to this restoration project.
